Paint with conviction. Paint knowingly. Do not flounder or guess~ believe what your passion is telling you. Do not listen to the voices of critics outside your head. Paint it like you will never paint it again ~ because you won't. Paint as though there are no tomorrows ~ because for this moment, there are not.
"Not all of them are masterpieces, " I said once, to an artist friend. "Everyone must be," he responded. Two opposing ideas, and yet, they both make perfect sense. How can that be? One is an idea of momentum, and the other is an idea of endurance. Like the sun and the rain, as an artist, you need both to grow.
Mel-Noir's second session ended with great satisfaction. She is surfacing very nicely. This is a tenuous point, however. We are almost there, or we may crash and burn... It is an exciting kind of insanity.
